Preparing storyboard
A storyboard is a plan to create your story/scene flow of your gamic. Panels are boxes of frame that appeared in gamic. If you are planning to create a typical fun or joke type of gamic it is usually within 3-5 panels. Try to keep your gamic short should not exceed 10 – 12 panels. Some of you may have long writeups of the character tales and if you do, I would suggest to break down into several episodes so that, the story fits into 10-12 panels.
You may also consider making some nice panel template for your sketch / notepad like the picture below, neat huh
.
You can obtain some good tips in this site http://ninthwavedesigns.typepad.com.
Note : It doesn’t matter whether you are drawing stick figures or mona lisa painting on the storyboard panel, the main objective of storyboard is to guide you on which scene to capture and dialogues to use later.
