Note, not all animated gif are suitable to be emote, some are too big in size and shrinking it makes it looks ugly. Right click on them and save as image or click the download link to get the zip file.

Season greetings everyone, first of all I’ll like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Today, we are going to explore a new way of making gamics using a FREE tool called “Superlame! ComicMaker”. Before that, here are the complete list of remaining sprites for characters.

Ok, let’s not waste any time. Head towards this site. Note: You will need to have your screenshots converted into jpeg to use this application. You also need to crop out the portion of the screenshot you need to the size 600×600 at least.

Click on START HERE button to start the application. Wait for it to load and click upload image link above. Find the screenshot required to make the gamic and upload it.

Once, you have uploaded it it will appear at the center of the screen. Huge picture may take a while. Once the picture appear, it will appear in stretched in 600×600 size which might be too big or out of portion.

Click 1:1 on the right hand size corner to match the actual size.

Then, click on the Add Balloon above to add the Speech Balloon on top of the picture. You can also add Sound Effect balloon which is those special speech fonts like KAPOW! BANG! to spice up the gamic panel. Lastly, click save image and you have done one panel for you gamic! That’s all for today Happy X’mas and Happy New Year from Trickster GamicPress!

Like all plugins in Paint.Net this is a bunch of plugins worth downloading so extract all the dll files into Paint.Net effect folder. We will be covering two cool plugins today – the “color match” and “fade edges”.

For those looking for more sprites I’ve also prepared another 3 more goodies for download. Here you go – Second Job Buffalo, Dragon, Sheep and Fox.

Color Match Plugin

Sometimes, we remember colors of the picture in mind for example a picture that you took from your room. The colors and the tonne and everything about it and you got a scene in matches the one you had in mind but not the color. Normally, you would use hue and saturation to adjust the picture to some what match it. However, with this plugin – you do not need to. Check out Figure 1.1 – 1.2.

The effects are kinda subtle but, sometimes it really does what you wanted in secs. Check out what you can do with this.

Hiya all, welcome to Tammy’s Corner again. This week, we will be focusing on how to take proper screen shots for your Gamic. Also I’ve completed the last character sprites for Bunny1st job. Taking a good shots is crucial because, it reduces the need to do graphical touch ups later on.

First of all, I would like to thank NTreev for the new Trickster UI patch…weee we can finally turn the pets dialogue off…is annoying to capture a good screen shot sometimes because of pet’s dialogue blocking the view.

To have a good screenshot, your snapshots should be using BMP instead of JPEG, JPEG’s output is somewhat compress and the quality is not suitable when you adjust the size. Another plus factor of using bitmap is works better with Magic Wand selection (pixels). Make sure you selected BMP under function of options. You can adjust these option by pressing O key.

During capturing session best to turn your chat bar off, you can do that by pressing Enter key. You can always bring the chat bar back up by press Enter again. Click on BMP under Screen Shot. Next we will need to remove some unnecessary special effects, and map effect and the new option to turn Pet Dialogue OFF.

Another good tips is to switch off, Players Dialogue especially those Shop notice, My Camp Notice and Party, Chat dialogue. To do so, Hold Space to Print Screen.

Anyway, I’ve some character sprites ready for download today, Fox1st and Dragon1st.

Also here are some of the Trickster character portrait illustration. You can use these as media for you character profiles later.

Let’s get started!

Before we do, let’s have a checklist of a typical Character Profiles.

1. Character Name – A name as in real world.
2. IGN (In Game Name / Alias) – Alias or IGN
3. Age, Hair, Weight, Height (optional)
4. Character Level Range – The level range for the character. This affects the appearance of the characters in Gamic.
5. Character Class – The class of the character.
6. Noticeable Skills – Distinguishing Features e.g. great gunslinger, never miss in throws, immortal and etc.
7. Character History – Some small write up character flashbacks, origins and relationship with others.
8. Character Portrait – A picture of the character.
9. Principal Function – What’s this character for? Main Character or known as “Protagonist” or villain “Antagonist” or some other supporting characters.

Once, you have some of these planned out, let’s insert a character profile. Open up your storyboard file in Celtx. Click on Main Catalog and click on the + Add. Select Character and type in the name of the character, Click OK.

Once, you added the character, try to key in as much as possible description of the profile; based on the info in the checklist above. Adding stuff in here, makes you define the character characteristics, behavior as well as appearance.

It makes it easy to plot and write later because, you can refer back at them just to maintain a good consistency over the flow of story. And also it allows you to role-play and focus toward building your character personality in-game. E.g. Agent Tammy has a military look because, she is from a Military school. She carries a gun given to her by the father. See how Agent Tammy is fashioned in Trickster – matches the profile.
