When it comes to drilling to drilling in Trickster…we always get the frustration and hassle to it; to the point they just give up on it or buy the quest item instead of drilling for it.

In Trickster, almost 60% of the game quest content are obtained from drilling. Drilling seems to be an important aspect for players who wants to complete episode quest, event quest or just obtaining ores/materials for refining and compound.

Today’s survival guide covers the fundamental understanding of drilling mechanics and why sense character can make full use of their potentials when it comes to drilling and also how non-sense character can also overcome their weakness by applying some drilling techniques.

How Items are Spawned

Item are spawned in cluster or a patch within areas of the maps. If you have a fox / lion with the skill of basic detection, all you need to do is the cast it within an area. Basic detection is a skill which can detect items up to 110 meters of depth. Foxes and Hybrid Lions can learn item detection which is a skill similar to basic detection but detects deeper. Regardless of whether you have that skill or not, just to let you know items will appear that way. The picture below shows basic detection in action! FoxieFox has detected 11 items around her. Pay attention to the red circles. Notice the pattern. Most likely items then to spawn very close to each other.

If you not have the skill or a non-sense character, just remember few things if you do end up drilling a spot which has an item on it.

Try to drill on the spots closer to the previous spot (8 direction from the spot), you might get lucky.

Sometimes in corner of the map like in minds items will appear in straight lines clinging to the walls or object.

Do not constantly drill on random spots. You have to do that initially just to let you find one lucky spot then apply method 1.

You will most likely not getting anything you want if you are drilling on areas where a lot of people are drilling. Which explains why is rare quest items are so hard to find…because so many people drilling for the same thing in the same area. Walk around find spots like behind some object or clinging to the wall. Note: Rare items will most likely to appear in only one spot per cluster in a map area.

Drilling Ability (DA)

This stats is used by sense class to activate their skills like shuriken master and stone strike. However, this is also the stats that will helped your character “feel” items on the ground. If you character DA is high enough (with the help of DA gears), your character will begin to detect items on the ground. This is not a skill but merely an indication from your character, you will get a light bulb or a some string when you about to land the drill. See picture below.

There’s No Need to Rush

Just focus on what you want, it doesn’t matter whether you find it today or tomorrow. Even if it’s an event still, you can ask your friend or guild mates or just buy from character. Your player won’t tired but, you will. Switching on to other server does help in finding rare items sometimes.

If you are playing solo, and got some cash in hand you may end up using driller boy / girl to do the drilling for you. FYI, these pets are fully automated, they drill at their own pace one spot at the time regardless it is empty or not (manual drilling is way faster), will swap and used up all your drills. In other words they will mind control your character into drilling slaves lol…

Check your Depth and Drill Option

You need to check your map depth by typing /Depth in the chat box on the particular map you are about to drill. It will tell you in return in chat window, the minimum and maximum of depth in the map.

When you buy your drill make sure is the correct maximum depth that matches the depth of the map. Stage of the drill will result in tmlvl gains drill drilling and yes – the higher the drill stage the higher the tmlvl reward per drill. Chaos drill is one of the best non-revo drill that is still available cheap at 4000 g. It is sold only at Carbigal Gate.

Well I hope you find this guide, will be useful for you to gain a better understanding on how drilling mechanics in Trickster Online. FYI, personal advise is to have a sense character account or character that can focus on drilling then have them transfer to your character via bank to help you save cost in long run. Good Luck and Happy Trickstering!
