Alright, time to start the Fire!!!…. click the Background layer. Yes the bottom most layer. Look for the menu called Adjustments > Curves… (see Figure 3.1). Now, you adjust curves properties. Before you do anything, See the Red, Green and Blue check boxes below. Start with blue, uncheck every box and select only blue - drag blue curve. Deselect blue checkbox, select Green checkbox - drag green curve and finally, deselect green checkbox for red. Adjust by following Figure 3.2. You will see the fire effect starting to change color like in Figure 3.3.

Final touch up, just create another layer with your favourite cut out sprite you wanted. You may adjust the layer blending mode Multiply to blend the layer into it.

Nice guide I never knew paint has similar functions as photoshop

paint.net comes closest to match photoshop, in terms of effects and stuff, but power wise still photoshop can churn out more…but paint.net is free and lightweight.
It is very very very lightweight o.o only 1.6 MB o.O
